9.PEARLS FORMATION: A natural pearl formation is a unique feature in the sea of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The molluscs coat the nucleus with thousands upon thousands of layers of nacre, and over time, a pearl begins to form slowly. How long it takes for a pearl to form depends on the growth rate of the nacre. Most pearls typically take anywhere between two to four years to develop fully. Many cultural farms are located in the area of Pacific that boost the greatest Marine Biodiversity on the planet. Pearls are formed when an irritant works its way into a particular species of Oyster.


10.CORALS: Beautiful corals are found under the sea of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Corals are dead living organisms in the ocean that form reefs. These are the hardened skeleton of sea animals and insects for thousands of years. Corals are the Marine Resources and are under protection of 1991Act. Coral reefs protect coastlines from storms and erosion, provide jobs for local communities, and offer opportunities for recreation. They are also are a source of food and new medicines. Over half a billion people depend on reefs for food, income, and protection.
