SATPURA KI RANI -PACHMARHI-HILL STATION -MADHYA PRADESH-INDIA

Pachmarhi known as Satpura Ki Rani is a Hill Station in Central India. It is a tourist attraction in Indian  State Madhya Pradesh. It comes under district Hoshangabad. It is a great location for sightseeing,  recreation , getting around and dining. Pipariya is its nearest Railway Station and is 53 km. away from  Pachmarhi. Taxi services are available from Pipariya to Pachmarhi. Hotels and Resorts are easily and in a  very nominal charges available for all. Bhopal and Jabalpur Airports are the nearest airports to  Pachmarhi. One can avail direct flight to these cities from Delhi and Indore. There are also many other   connecting flights available from other Indian cities. From Bhopal its almost 200 km. and by car takes   five hours to reach.Pachmarhi is famous for many tourist places but here only ten top tourist places have   been mentioned which can be visited within one night stay over there.

1.BEE FALLS:

Bee Falls is a beautiful waterfall. It provides drinking water to the whole town Pachmarhi .It has a great picturesque view and for that reason treat for our eyes and peace for our soul. Beside Bee Falls  many other waterfalls are also there but Bee Fall is the most popular one among them all.


2.DHOOPGARH:

Dhoopgarh is the highest point of Satpura Ranges of mountains. One can enjoy Sunrise and Sunset from Dhoopgarh. Reaching Dhoopgarh due to its hightest ranges is comparatively tougher to reach.


  

3.HANDI KHOH:

Handi Khoh is beautiful ravines in the middle of dense forests. It has a mythological history related to Hindu God Shiva .There is a story linked to this place that a devil snake used to live there and was guarding the lake but he became victim of the fury of Lord Shiva as a result was dried up and hence the entire place dried up and took a shape of handi or a vessel.


4.SATPURA NATIONAL PARK:

Satpura National Park too is a picturesque Landscape. It has a variety of Flora and Fauna. The main purpose of this place is to preserve the wildlife, it is not like a conventional wild park or a sanctuary. It has a unique view and is a wonderful experience to visit the place.



5.CHAURAGARH TEMPLE:

Chauragarh Temple is Lord Shiva shrine on the top of Chauragarh hill. To reach the temple one has to climb almost 1300 steps .Thousands of tridents (three-pronged spear) are stuck in here for years offered by the Devotees of Lord Shiva, the Hindu God. Chauragarh Temple is surrounded by hills and forest.It has a unique view and a mystic serene feeling.


6.PANDAV CAVES :

If we go back to the Mahabharat Epic story we will come to know the exile story of the Pandavas imposed on them by the Kauravas .During this exile period the caves here provided them shelter .These caves have been protected as monuments and have become one of the unique attraction to the tourists. Pandav caves are five in numbers as the Pandav brothers were five .


 7.CHRIST CHURCH ,PACHMARHI:

Christ Church ,Pachmarhi is an architecture of the British Era .It reminds us of the Colonial British Era. It is made of stone and having glass window panes. In the premises of this Church there is a Cemetery also. On the headstone of the Cemetery Stone some words of wisdom of  the 1800 Century ,name , birth date, death date of the deceased have been mentioned. It reminds us of the World War too. Only our imagination can follow those bygone days. 



8.BISON LODGE MUSEUM :

Bison Lodge Museum is an excellent information Centre. It depicts the flora and fauna  of  Satpura National Park. It features life sized sculptures and local wild life in a unique way. Like any other Museum of India it presents pictures, models and other details of the present and past treasure of Madhya Pradesh. It also houses models and graphs of historical places of interest. It is dedicated to the  animals and plants of the local area. Bison Lodge once used to be a residence of  a British Captain who came to Pachmarhi to lead his Troop.  


 
9.JATA SHANKER CAVES :

Jata Shanker Caves are one of the most eclectic experience full of serenity to the devotee of Lord Shiva At Jata Shanker Caves there is a naturally formed Shivalingam with  rock structured hundred headed snakes. Thus we see most of the places of Pachmarhi are associated with religion and mythological stories. It is said that Lord Shiva hid himself in these caves when Bhasmasura, the Demon wanted to kill him as per the legends of Hindus.


 
10.RAJENDRAGIRI SUNSET POINT:

Rajendragiri Sunset Point is a beautiful Botanical Garden .It is named after the first President of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad who was very fond of this place .This garden is popular as a Sunset Point. Dr. Rajendra Prasad used to watch this gorgeous sunset view. This garden is full of beautiful flowers and a variety of plants after all it is a Botanical Garden .One can view the splendid Satpura Ranges of Mountains from this garden.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE :
Pachmarhi is the World's Second largest Military Music Centre in Asia. Musician Soldiers are prepared here. Pachmarhi is also an Army Educational Corps Training College and Centre having its
origin back  to 24 APRIL,1921.
