WORLD'S TALLEST STATUE -STATUE OF UNITY-SARDAR VALLABHBHAI PATEL

The Statue Of Unity is a colossal statue of Indian Statesman Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who was the first Home Minister of Independent India. He was also an adherent of Mahatma Gandhi. The Statue Of Unity is built to pay homage to Sarder Vallabhbhai Patel . He was instrumental in India’s freedom struggle and was given the title of The Iron Man. Today world’s tallest statue is The STATUE OF UNITY in Kevadia, Gujarat India Asia. This statue overlooks Sardar Sarovar Dam and stands on the bank of Narmada river.

Its height is 182 m. and has left all the world’s tallest statues behind it. This colossal statue is a gift to the iron man of India . It is an architectural marvel constructed by Larson and Toubro Ltd. ,an Indian multinational conglomerate ,with business interest in engineering ,construction ,manufacturing, technology and financial services. Its headquarter is in Mumbai. The company is among top five construction companies. This project was announced on 7^th October 2010 and its foundation was laid on 31^st October 2013 .A Marathon Run For Unity on 15^th December 2013 was  conducted to support it 

The construction was handed over to Larson and Toubro on 27^th October 2014 and on 31^st October 2014 the construction started. The iron used in it was collected from farmers of their used farming instruments.135 metric tones of scrap iron was collected and 109 metric tones was used for its foundation only. An Indian sculpture Ram Vanji Sutar designed the statue.  Over 250 Engineers and 3000 workers worked on it.It can withstand earthquake measuring to 6.5 Richter Scale. It was inaugurated on 31^st October 2018 as the world’s tallest statue.182 metre (600 feet aprox.) is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ,the architect of Independent India.

ENTRY FEE- TIMINGS- BEST TIME TO VISIT :

The Express entry ticket cost Rs.1000 for adults and children. Below 3 years toddlers do not require tickets. Normal ticket is Rs.120 and children is 30. Entry ticket for Gallery is Rs.350 for adult and 120 for children. Timing for public is from 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. all days. October to March is the best time to visit Statue Of Unity.
