When we
talk about India’s best places to visit one name comes to our mind that’s
Udaipur in Rajasthan India. Rajasthan state in India has many tourist places
like Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Chittorgarh, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Pushkar and many
others. Among all one of the most beautiful is Udaipur and is also known as
City of Lakes and Palaces.
Udaipur was
the capital of Mewar Kingdom and lies in the Western Indian State of Rajasthan.
It was founded by Maharana Udai Singh II in 1559.This city is set around a
series of Artificial Lakes and Lavish Royal Residences, the Palaces. The
Bollywood Celebrities as well as the Rich People of India prefer these palaces in
Rajasthan to be the Venue of their Destination Marriages in a Royal Environment.
Udaipur is
also referred as The Venice of the East. It is hemmed by the lush green hills
of Aravalli and surrounded by enchanting
lakes. The city Udaipur is known for its profusion of Zinc and Marble. Solar
Observatory in Lake Fateh Sagar is made on the pattern of Big Bear Lake in
Southern California.

The City
Palace is situated over Lake Pichola. This Palace is a majestic palace with
balconies and towers and gives a wonderful view to you of the Lake Pichola . City
Palace consists of four main and many small palaces and thus form a magnificent
City Palace. Its main part has been preserved as a Museum displaying artifacts.
Several Rulers of Mewar contributed in the development of the Palace Complex.
It was constructed over a period of more than 400 years. Maharana Udai Singh
initiated to construct it in 1553 A.D. City Palace has a picturesque view of
its grandeur.
LAKE PALACE
It is a
Summer Palace and is also known as Jagniwas and now is a hotel. It was built
between 1743 to 1746 on the island near Jagmandir in Lake Pichola. Its
courtyards are lined up with gardens, fountains and pillared terraces.

Jagmandir
Palace is also called Lake Garden Palace and was constructed between 1620 to
1652.Royal family used it for their parties and social gathering as a Summer
Resort. It is said that Emperor Shah Jahan took shelter here when he rebelled
his father Jahagir. It is also said that Shah Jahan got inspired by it only to
built Taj Mahal one of the wonders of the world.

TEMPLE
Jagdish
Temple was built in 1651 and is one of the most famous temples of Udaipur. It
is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the Hindus God. This is an excellent example of architecture
of the Indo -Aryan style. Carved pillars, graceful ceilings and painted walls
make it superb and excellent example of architecture. This is a three
storied temple built by Maharana Jagat
Singh I.
FATEH SAGAR LAKE
Fateh Sagar
Lake is surrounded by hills and woodlands. It is connected to Lake Pichola
.This Lake has a beautiful Nehru Garden on which stands Udaipur Solar
Observatory. Initially it was called Connaught Bundh since it was inaugurated
by the Duke of Connaught.

Pichola is
the name of a village. The islands of Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir exsist in this
Lake. Lake Pichola has a breathtaking view at sunset and because of that a boat
ride of the tourists during evening is the favorite site for them.
SAHELIYON
KI BARI
It means
garden of the maidens and was built by Maharana Sangram Singh II for the Royal
Ladies. It is a very popular tourist spot in Udaipur. Saheliyon ki Bari has marble
elephants, fountains and lotus pool. At night it has a tranquilizing effect on
all due to its light effects and beauty.
BAGORE KI
HAVELI
Bagore ki
haveli is located just close to Lake Pichola at Gangaur Ghat .It was built in
18th Century by Amer Chand Badwa,
the Prime Minister of Mewar .It is a grand palace and consists over 100
rooms. These rooms in this palace display costumes , modern art and glasses and
mirrors in its interiors are structured in Haveli Styles.
